Amec Foster Wheeler Environment and Infrastructure is currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager to join our Salt Lake City, UT team. The successful candidate will provide geotechnical engineering and task management and be responsible for delivering geotechnical and geologic projects to Amec Foster WheelerA?s public and private sector clients. Projects generally include transportation, mining, site characterization, flood control, dams, levees, pavements, and other civil works projects. As a Project Manager you will play a key role in expanding the capabilities of growing the geotechnical group in Salt Lake City. The ideal candidate has strong technical capabilities, a commitment to delivering a quality product, and an interest in taking on a leadership role. Key ResponsibilitiesWill provide geotechnical engineering and task management and be responsible for delivering geotechnical and geologic projects to Amec Foster WheelerA?s public and private sector clientsTechnical management and direction of site investigations and preparing technical reportsGeotechnical engineering analyses of slope stability, seepage analysis and LRFD formation designProject and budget management including resource management and oversightManaging and coordinating project teams, including ensuring the technical quality of deliverablesManage client communications, expectations and satisfactionRecognizes and initiates business development opportunitiesMaintains effective client relationships; leverages project experience to win workLead and / or assist with the coordination, development and production of proposals, SOQs and presentations, ensuring the highest quality of information and documentation outputManage, advise, coach and develop junior engineersCollaboration and participation in technical discussions with team membersBS or MS in Civil Engineering. An emphasis in geotechnical engineering is a plusUtah PE license or the ability to obtain within 6 months5 : 10 years + relevant professional geotechnical engineering experienceStrong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics and local Utah soils and geologyExperience in two or more of the following areas:TransportationMine design (tailings and heap leach)FoundationsEarth dams and leveesDrilling, field investigations and laboratory testingGood communication, report writing and presentation skills in EnglishSuperior time management, planning and ability to interact with clientsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a teamProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookProficiency with SLOPE/W and SEEP/W a plus but not requiredAbility and willingness to travel to project sites and approximately 10 overnight travelMust pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Companys driving (MVR) policyWe are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
