Job Description
Essential Job Functions—Accountabilities
It is expected Drafting Interns will …

• Transform initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (recent versions of AutoCAD, Revit).
• Review and approve shop drawings, selection of colors, fixtures, and finishes for function and aesthetics.
• Conducts on site job reviews of existing conditions prior to preliminary design work if required.
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
• Outlines components such as labor, materials and equipment.
• Assist sales by reviewing product options against project specifications.
• Predict vendor product types/quantities using architectural drawings and specifications.
• Prepare submittal documents in accordance with project architectural drawings and specifications or owners requests.
• Work with project manager to format submittals to best accommodate project delivery and other requirements.
• Review vendor drawings for production and work with project manager and vendor representative to correct any issues during their order process.

Working with pictures in graphics programs or other applications, including creating simple graphics, manipulating the appearance, and inserting graphics into other programs.

• Navigation
Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.

• Presentations
Navigating the Internet to find information, including the ability to open and configure standard browsers; use searches, hypertext references, and transfer protocols; and send and retrieve electronic mail (e-mail).

• Spreadsheets
Using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.

• Word Processing
Using a computer application to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word processing documents
Physical Demands
The employee will frequently stand; sit; the employee will regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; the employee will occasionally life up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include the following: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

On occasions will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions

Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in a Drafting or related program though an accredited college.
