Job Description
The job of the Lead Teacher is to:
•provide guidance and direction to other teachers within the team
•communicate, with management, any issues regarding the overall classroom that may arise
•overseeing related learning activities
•set the tone for the classroom (e.g. manners, classroom rules, responsibilities, noise, transitions, etc.)
•supervise, observe and teach the students
•ensure compliance with PEEK curriculum and Utah State Core requirements
•assist with, and coordinate, communications with parents

•Coordinates student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration through student assessments two to three times per school year.
•Collaborates with teaching team, other PEEK personnel, parents and/or community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student enrichment school experience to achieve PEEK’s classroom objectives of teaching the “whole child”.
•Counsels and directs the teaching team for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program, addressing the needs of the individual students, improving performance, and problem solving techniques in order to achieve classroom and PEEK objectives.
•Demonstrates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual student requirements.
•Facilitates student’s learning (e.g. art, science, music, housekeeping, story time, movement activities, etc.) for the purpose of improving the students’ academic success and transition to the next classroom level.
•Models, to teaching team and students, appropriate conversation, manners, clean-up activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
•Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, nap times, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
•Organizes age appropriate indoor and outdoor activities for the purpose of ensuring student participation in learning activities.
•Participates in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. Manages a variety of written materials (e.g. assessments, attendance, student records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress to meet PEEK and Utah State Core guidelines.
•Supports teaching team for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.

Other Functions and skills
•Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of The PEEK Program.
•Must be able to lift 50#, bend and stoop.
•Must possess a UTAH driver’s license and have a “clean” driving record.
•Must be able, and willing, to drive PEEK vehicles
•Must have a current CPR/First Aid card at all times
•Must complete 20 hours of Continuing Education yearly to meet Utah State Childcare Licensing standards
