SAMHIS is a complex data system used to collect substance abuse and mental health data from local public treatment providers. The data is used to report to the Federal Government on various grants and contracts which are tied to funding SAMHIS is a complex data system used to collect substance abuse and mental health data from local public treatment providers. The SAMHIS system allows DSAMH to maintain both Federal and State funding levels for services. SAMHIS is the main repository of data used in reporting to the Legislature, for the Annual Report, and other reports used for planning. The SAMHIS project includes other applications such as an administrative application and a file utility application and a website. Although SAMHIS is a mature application and fully in use by our providers, updates are needed for new legislative and/or Federal grant reporting requirements on a yearly basis

Current operations are maintaining the current production system, while developing for future reporting functionality and changes needed to meet the reporting requirements. A high degree of familiarity with the existing system, its architectures, structures, environments and interfaces is required in order to maintain SAMHIS at the lowest possible cost. Staff must be knowledgeable and have experience in order to rapidly develop new compatible functions while maintaining compliance with regulations without affecting existing quality, performance, or system security.

Current work includes includes enhancing and maintaining code for the .Net (Web) SAMHIS Application. This includes all tasks associated with coding: analysis, design, coding and testing. Consultants well be required to provide support for testing and troubleshooting to resolve SAMHIS problems for programmers, customers, DTS staff, SAMHIS staff and Local Authorities. and. Technical people also create build packages of the application for deployment. Operational Application Database Administration (DBA) work includes creating, maintaining and monitoring data processes, procedures, and interfaces for programmers, customers, including the SAMHIS data team, other SAMHIS stakeholders and workers. SAMHIS DBA support is provided by the database hosting group. SAMHIS developer will be required to development, test, training, production and adhoc reporting databases.

Qualifications

Experience with Substance Abuse Mental Health Systems

3+ years experience with .Net web technologies (ASP.Net, Asp.Net MVC, WCF)

1+ years developing with WPF and modern design patterns

2+ years developing database objects for MS SQL server
