EO/AA This position reports to the Director, Outreach and Network Development (O and ND) and is accountable for business development and retention for assigned markets in the nine state region defined as the Intermountain West. The incumbent represents University of Utah Health Care (UUHC) to market area providers, including physicians, hospital(s) and other health care providers, employers and insurance companies. This position also develops and maintains leading edge knowledge of the assigned healthcare markets and economic conditions which present opportunities for collaboration and growth.Job Specific Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesPerforms to required standards for job specific responsibilities and technical competencies.Talent ManagementHiring, training, developing, and communicating with staff.Financial ManagementResponsible for developing, monitoring and achieving budget goals.Manages labor and non:labor expenses to budget or flex budget.Manages revenue to budget to maximize potential revenue.EPE/ServiceResponsible for patient satisfaction scores within assigned area(s).Responsible for upholding PROMISE standards of direct reports and team members.QualityResponsible to achieve quality goals for assigned area(s).Manages and promotes continuous process improvements in assigned area(s).Performance ManagementResponsible to provide staff feedback on performance, including on:time appraisals and coaching.Responsible to deal with conflicts in a proactive manner and to reach resolution in a timely manner.Building RelationshipsForms positive relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the organization.Actively engages staff with updates and news as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams. Provides feedback and recognition when appropriate.Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesClinical knowledge/background is preferred, as is knowledge of clinical business operations processes and procedures.Demonstrated success in business development and marketing activities. A health care sales and marketing background is preferred.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with, support and influence key decision:makers in the provider and payer community is necessary. Ability to professionally representing the organization in social and public settings.Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a group setting with high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment. Must have a sense of urgency, analytical and intuitive skills as well as strong organizational skills.Maintains flexibility as it relates to schedule, responsibilities and priorities. Extensive travel required.QualificationsRequiredBachelorA?s degree in business administration, health care administration or in a related field, or equivalency.8 years progressively responsible management experience which includes operations, as well as sales and marketing, preferably in a health care setting.Must demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
