IT Support Technician - Level 1

Job Description

Provides basic support and troubleshooting, such as password resets, printer configurations, break/fix instructions, ticket routing and escalation to Level 2 and Level 3 support.

Responsibilities

• Level 1 support is the first line support for hardware/software problems. A solid foundation in hardware troubleshooting is required, as well as strong knowledge of MS Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and other standard business products as related.
• Demonstrated ability to work with Windows XP, 7, 10, and Apple, MAC, iOS is a must .
• This role is responsible for responding to Help Desk tickets in a timely manner and should be able to demonstrate the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve first level ticket requests.
• The ability to respond to emails and texts from staff members in a timely manner is critical.
• Level 1 support tickets should try to be resolved in no more than 24 hours from the time they are assigned. Excludes weekends.
• This position should also be able to provide 1st level network patch management for cross connects and toning out of data lines.
• Ability to perform system upgrades and re-imaging of desktops and laptops is essential.
• Ability to join PC’s to a Domain or Workgroup is crucial and essential. As well as troubleshooting problems with Domains and Workgroups.
• Printer setup and repair to include desktop printers, This includes hard setting IP Addresses if needed.
• In the event that the (Level 1) Tech can’t resolve the issue after an initial troubleshooting period, he/she should then escalate this to a (Level 2) Tech for further research and guidance on how to resolve the issue.
• Ticket queue management is required to stay on top of all tickets assigned to them, and proper documentation with the ability to follow up with end users is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• 1 - 5 years Hardware/Software troubleshooting
• A+ Certificate or ability to obtain one quickly
• Windows XP - 10
• Beginner level Apple, MAC, iOS
• MS Office 2007 - Office 365
• Imaging Software such as GHOST, or other equivalents
• Light Network Management - Toning Lines and Performing Cross Connects
• Current valid drivers license
• Reliable transportation a must
• Ability to pass both a drug and background check

Compensation will be a factor based upon previous experience. It will be discussed in the interview.
