Reporting to the Sr. Director of Software Engineering this role is the tactical leader of a software engineering team. They are accountable for the design, engineering, execution, support, maintenance, and performance of all software engineering initiatives on projects assigned to their teams. They also directly lead a specific software engineering team on a day to day basis, participate in hands:on coding, and interact with merchant and vendor partners. What Youll Do:Enrich and uphold the cultural and performance of the software engineering teamLead by example as a servant:leaderWork with peers and organizational leaders to maintain a positive team moraleCoach and hold individuals accountable to improve their performance and their skillsCollaborate with the Sr. Director of Software Engineering and the team to establish and refine common software engineering tools, techniques and practicesAssure common engineering standards, collaboration, operational practices, architectural principles, and practices are upheld by their team membersPromptly communicate and escalate sprint timing or deliverable concerns to stakeholders and leadersAssure that scrum master duties are maintained and oversee the teams regular sprint backlogExecute on the sprints to stay on pace with the software engineering roadmapAssure that team members receive adequate and relevant training and enrichment opportunitiesAssure that an on:call rotation is maintained and executedAssure that incident and change management, security and issue escalation procedures are followedPrepare and conduct performance reviewsMinimum Experience and Qualifications: Four or more years leadership experience in the field of Software Engineering, leading a teamSix or more years experience in leading problem resolution, issue remediation, and IT deploymentsSix or more years experience working with business leaders on a daily/weekly basisFour or more years experience performing merit reviews and compensation managementSix or more years experience in hands:on software development or engineeringTwo or more years experience in formal Project Management methodologies like agile or scrumTwo or more years experience in tactical planningBachelors degree or equivalent documented experience is requiredDemonstrated solid understanding of scalable technology architecturesExperience with tools like JIRA, Balsamiq, Green Hopper, Git, Jenkins, etcetera Compensation, Perks and Benefits:Competitive Compensation with Quarterly Bonus PotentialFull Health Benefits : Medical/Dental/Vision401k, Paid Time Off and Tuition ReimbursementFull Service Gym, Game and Lounge Area, Basketball CourtFree Healthy Snacks and RefreshmentsSubsidized Public TransitFun and Relaxed Work Environment WHO IS PROGRESSIVE LEASING?
