This friendly team player will also be involved in developing and supporting custom web based applications and have no problem working with others. Responsibilities The successful applicant will aid in design, development and general maintenance of custom web based applications. Will design, develop and maintain departmental, faculty, lab, and research web sites (mostly WordPress) underneath the College of Engineering. May design and send out one time and periodic E-mail communications (newsletters, notifications, etc) to different email lists. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). 2 years of experience in web software development or related area. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. Preferences Desired Skills: Proficiency in Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP. Experience with an MVC framework, (Laravel, Symphony, Zend, etc..) Experience with modern javascript libraries/frameworks such as jQuery and Vue.js Experience with Wordpress. Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3. Experience with web communication architecture including Ajax The ability to create modern, responsive designs. Solid grasp of relational data, normalization, cardinality. The ability to take ownership of projects, bring new ideas, and work both independently and as part of a team.
