Job Summary
Handles administrative matters relating to the functioning of an academic or administrative unit\\.
Essential Functions
The essential functions of the position include:
1\\. Handling the administrative matters of day\\-to\\-day operations and procedures, meetings and events of the department and its associated research centers;
2\\. Assisting with the development of department budgets;
3\\. Maintaining and monitoring accounts, budgets, and expenditures of the department and its associated research centers;
4\\. Processing and implementing human resource management tasks of departmental faculty, staff, and students;
5\\. Handling payroll for the department and its associated research centers;
6\\. Facilitating and processing performance reviews of departmental faculty, staff, and students by the department chair and research center directors;
7\\. Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data for specialized reports;
8\\. Advising and assisting graduate students with academic and financial aid concerns and interfacing with the Graduate School, as needed;
9\\. Monitoring graduate student academic progression and graduation, and maintaining student and alumni records;
10\\. Providing at least monthly updates to the websites for the department and its associated research centers as directed by the department chair and the center directors;
11\\. Coordinating purchasing activities, personnel actions, document control, and account coding for financial transactions and overseeing the maintenance of departmental records;
12\\. Providing administrative support to the department chair and the center directors\\.
13\\. Providing supplement support to fellow administrative staff in the college, particularly for special events\\.

**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalency \\(2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education\\)\\. Three years experience that includes specific involvement in maintaining complex financial records, developing and monitoring departmental budgets and preparing related reports; and demonstrated organizational, human relation and effective communication skills\\.
